Did You Know...

  • International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education that provides an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
  • IEW was first held in 2000 and today, is celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide.
  • According to Open Doors, 298,180 U.S. students studied abroad for academic credit in 2023/24.
  • 911±¬ÁÏ is ranked 10th in the U.S. in the list of Top 40 Baccalaureate Institutions (Carnegie Type) by Total Number of Students Studying Abroad for a Semester.
  • International education isn't just U.S students studying abroad - it's also incoming international students. The U.S. hosted 1,777,766 international students in 2024/25.
  • In Fall 2025, 911±¬ÁÏ is home to 193 from 57 different countries. This is more than 7% of the student body.
  • International education prepares U.S. citizens to live, work, and compete in the global economy.

November 17-21, 2025

(IEW) is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education that endeavors to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. It is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. 

Events during IEW

  • Monday, November 17th - Global Café in the Learning Commons : Darling Doughnuts + Dunkin’ Coffee – Kicking off IEW from 8:30-10:00 am, Starbuck Center, 1st floor.
  • Monday, November 17th - Off-Campus Study Info Table, 11 am-2 pm, Case Center, 2nd floor
  • Wednesday, November 19 - Celebrate Global 911±¬ÁÏ Info Table with the Learning Commons from 8:30-10:00 am in DHall Atrium - free table takeaways for all!
  • Thursday, November 20 -  Info Table, 11 am-2 pm, Case Center, 2nd floor
  • Friday, November 21 - Global 911±¬ÁÏ Day - Photo Shoot, 11 am-2 pm, Dhall Atrium

Global 911±¬ÁÏ Day - Friday, November 21

Please join OCSE on Global 911±¬ÁÏ Day for the "I Am Global 911±¬ÁÏ" Open Photo Shoot, 11:00 am-2:00 pm in Atrium of the Dining to share your Global 911±¬ÁÏ story. Tell us how you are a part of Global 911±¬ÁÏ: Are you or your parents from another country? Have you studied, lived, or worked abroad? Do you speak more than one language? Do you have international friends? At our Open Photo Shoot you can write your story on a white board and have your photo taken with it by our photographer to add to our online gallery (at the bottom of this page). Wear your international experience proud.
